GOING GREEN City of Austin Public Saftey Building - LEED 3.0 Silver
This project consists of:
- New 50,000 sf Classroom Building with indoor multi-purpose training
area, currently striving for LEED 3.0 Silver.
- New 44,730 sf Pistol range with state of the art lighting Control system
- 3,350 sf Burn Building
- Various Outdoor Improvements
Lighting
- high efficiency lighting to reduce watts/sqft
- multi-level control to meet occupant needs
- switching zoned by space function and use to save energy and meet
occupant needs
- motions sensor control in small areas to reduce lighting waste when no
one is around
- lighting relay panel for control of large spaces for simplified control and
scheduling of auto off
- state of the art lighting control system for lighting at pistol range,
allowing for various occupant situational uses
Plumbing
- high efficiency 1/8 gal flush urinals for water savings
- motion sensor water closets for water savings
- motion sensor lavatories for water savings
Mechanical
- Energy Model shows 25.8% better than baseline
- high efficiency equipment for energy savings
- dedicated Outside Air Machine for constant high occupant load areas
to control humidity while meeting code
- CO2 sensors for control of Outside Air requirements for variable
occupant load spaces to save energy while meeting code
- bathroom exhaust controlled by motions sensor for energy control

save energy when not in required
